LotR Lessons: A Blog Post Series
Thanks to winter weather interfering with our weekly Sunday church meetings AGAIN, I had time to watch the entire extended version of "The Return of the King" this past weekend, completing my latest (and long overdue) rewatch of my favorite movie of all time.
Yes, they are all three one movie. Don't @ me.
This time around, I had some thoughts about some things in the movies, and I feel like writing about them. They're all lessons I saw in various moments that maybe can be instructive to me, you, and anyone who finds them.
Since there are eight of them, I won't burden you with one giant post - instead, I'll do a series of posts.
As a teaser, some hints about the topics:
- What you did, what you do
- A friend like Eowyn
- Scar was right
- Renewed shall be blade that was broken
- Darkness sucks, part 1
- Darkness sucks, part 2
- Carry on, carry on, carry on
- Glenn, Don, Bernie, Randy
Precisely one of these is NOT from The Return of the King. I could easily write so much more, but these are what stuck out this time. Maybe other ideas will appear next time.
Anyway, I hope you'll tune in and maybe we can all learn some of the lessons J.R.R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson may have not known they were teaching us.
