So Far Away

So far away,
I no longer hear
The voice of confidence
That was always near.
I listen in earnest
To hear soft-spoken strain,
To hear more than the wind,
But I try in vain.

So far away,
I no longer see
The light up ahead
That has guided me.
I look in hope,
And I watch and wait.
But the torch is gone,
Has left me to fate.

So far away,
I no longer feel
The touch that tells me
All that is real.
I cry out, "Wherefore
Did you leave me bereft?"
In the silence I learn
It was I who left.

Wow. Is that a Steve Lambson original? Very poignant words; very powerful sentiment. Nicely done.
